부활절 묵상 Reflection on Easter

Easter is the anniversary celebration of your new birth in Christ through Baptism. It is the day on which eternal life became available to you through his Resurrection. It is the day you renew your commitment to living that new life for God and the world.

As St. Paul reminds us, in Baptism we enter the grave with Jesus in oder to be raised with him to new life.

 

부활절은 세례를 통하여 우리가 그리스도 안에 새로 태어난 것을 기념하는 축제입니다. 그리스도의 부활을 통하여 우리에게 영원한 삶이 가능하게 된 날이 부활절인 것입니다. 부활절은 하느님과 세상을 위해 새로운 삶을 살기로 한 우리의 서약을 갱신하는 날인 것입니다.

바오로 사도께서 우리를 상기시키는 바와 같이, 우리는 예수님과 함께 새로운 삶으로 일어나기 위해 세례로써 예수님의 무덤에 들어갑니다.

 

위와 같은 내용으로 윌리엄 그림 신부님께서 부활절 묵상강론을 하신 걸 아래에 옮깁니다.

 

Japanese Christians have a wonderful greeting for this day. They say gofukkatsu omedetdou gozaimatsu. The phrase means “Resurrection, Congratulations!” When do we congratulate others? Obviously, when something has happened in their lives. By saying “Congratulations,” I say I share others joy. It's an unselfish greeting. “Congratulations” to the other person and the event's meaning for him or her, not so much to the event itself. What is it for which Japanese Christians congratulate one another? “Resurrection”

 

But, why should we congratulate each other for what happened to Jesus? Isn't he who deserves the congratulations? He is the one whose rising we celebrate. What have you or I to with that?

 

A lot, as it turns out. On Easter we do not celebrate Resurrection of Christ as a once-upon-a-time event. It is our feast as well as Christ's. You should be congratulated on Easter... and should congratulate your fellow Christians as well because in Christ's Resurrection, we, too, are raised to new life. That is the reason during the Easter Mass we renew our Baptismal commitment.

 

As St. Paul reminds us, in Baptism we enter the grave with Jesus in oder to be raised with him to new life. So, on the day we celebrate Jesus's rising to new life, we reconfirm‍ our union with him. This day new life began for all of us when Jesus rose from the dead. Easter is our birthday in eternal life.

 

When does eternal life begin? When we die? Yes, but not at the death we usually think of, our physical death. Eternal life began for us when we died with Christ in Baptism and entered into union with the risen Lord. So, the day we renew our Baptismal promises in a real sense a celebration of our birthday. Resurrection, congratulations! Christ is risen, and we are risen through him, with him and in him. So what? Is my life really all that different from that of others because I'm baptized? Am I more moral than others? Nicer than others? Better than others? Not particularly. So, what's the point? My biological life does not, for the most part, depend upon my conscious choices.

 

I don't control the way my organs work. My life in Christ, however, requires some response on my part. On Easter, we recommit ourselves to that response. We renounce a life apart from God and declare our desire to live as sons and daughters of God. We make a choice to live eternal life here and now.

 

That, too is cause for rejoicing, Resurrection, congratulations! What will this commitment mean to me and the world? It should mean freedom from the fear that prevents my accepting and sharing the love of God. If I already living eternal life, why fear anything that can happen to in this world? I'm united with the risen Lord. So I can be a servant to God and my neighbor. I can be the sign of the creation begun in the Resurrection of Jesus.

위의 그림(Grimm) 신부님의 부활절 강론 말씀을 청취하는 가슴에 이번 부활주간의 진도 앞바다의 처참함을 겹쳐 새기게 됩니다.  

 

진도 앞바다는 그야말로 ‘생때같은 생명의 무덤’입니다.

 

성주간 화요일에 그 무덤이 입을 벌려 한꺼번에 수백 명 생명을 삼켜버렸습니다. 성주간 내내 그 생때같은 생명들이 다시 올라오기를 간구했습니다. 주님수난성금요일을 지나며 성토요일 밤 희망의 부활성야에 그 ‘생때같은 생명의 무덤’이 비어있게 되기를 간구했습니다. 다 살아 돌아와 그 ‘물의 무덤’이 텅 비게 되는 기적을 주님께서 보여주시길 간구했습니다. 그야말로 ‘부활’을 우리 모든 국민에게 특히 그 생때같은 자식들의 부모에게 주님께서 베풀어주시기를 간구했습니다.

 

그러나…

그 많은 ‘실종’이 ‘주검’으로 속속 발표되어갑니다. 오…! 오…! 오…! 주님…! 오, 주님…!

 

안식일 다음날 새벽…! 그 새벽은 오지 않는 겁니까, 주님?

빈 무덤 앞에서 흐느끼는 막달레나의 체험을 끝내 허락하시지 않으시는 주님이신가요? 저 진도 앞 바닷가에서 흐느끼는 그 수많은 마리아들(엄마들)은 마리아 막달레나가 아닌가요, 주님?

 

주님!

우리들, 이 나라의 우리 모두들은, 지금껏 진정 세례를 받지 않은 자들인가 봅니다. 물속에 들어가 잠겼다가 올라오는 체험을 하지 못한 자들이 우리 모두들인가 봅니다, 주님!

 

주님처럼 죽고 묻히지 않아서 모두들 ‘나의 탓’을 모르고 있습니다, 주님!

 

주님처럼 묻히지 않았으니 일어날 줄 모르는 우리 모두들인가 봅니다, 주님!

 

묻혀보았어야지요!

 

그러질 않았음을 우리 모두들은 여실히 참담하게 고백해야 할 터인데도… 주님!

 

모두들 ‘너의 탓’만을 짖어댑니다. 그러니 거기 생때같은 생명들이 일어나 올라올 수가 없습니다, 주님! 이러한 우리들을 두고 주님께서 뭐라 하실 런지… 왜 말씀이 없으십니까, 주님!

 

주님!

우리 모두들에게 벌을 주세요!

 

우리 모두들이 이미 썩어서 그러한 것 같습니다, 주님!

온통 나라가 무덤이었음을… 이제 깨닫게 하여 주소서, 주님!

무덤에서 이미 썩을 대로 썩었으니… 그 무덤에서 일어나 올라올 수가 없는 우리 모두들의 모습을 진도 앞바다에서 보라고 주님께서 말씀 하시는군요, 주님!

 

우리들이 그렇게 썩었기에 생때같은(아무 죄도 없는) 아이들을 우리들 대신 바다 무덤에 쳐 넣었군요, 주님!

 

주님!

썩을 대로 썩은 우리들을 쓸어 없애시고 저 생때같은 아이들을 살려내 주소서!

 

바오로 사도께서 우리를 상기시키는 바와 같이, 우리는 예수님과 함께 새로운 삶으로 일어나기 위해 세례로써(물에 잠김으로써) 예수님의 무덤에(대신 죽으신 분의 무덤에) 우리의 이 나라 모든 사람들이 함께 들어가게 해 주소서. 그리고 새로운 모습으로 일어나게 해 주소서, 주님!

 

주님, 이 나라의 우리 모두들이 다 죽고 다시 살게 해 주소서!

주님, 우리 모두들이 ‘나의 탓’을 말할 줄 알게 해 주소서!

주님, 이 나라를 부활시켜 주소서!

그리고 주님, 이 나라 모두들이 ‘너의 탓’을 다신 말하지 않게 해 주소서. 그럴 때 그게 ‘부활’이겠지요, 주님?

‘부활’이란 그런 거겠지요, 주님?

 

주님, 이 나라의 한 국민으로서 저는 다른 할 말이 없습니다. 저는 죽어야 할 존재라는 것 말고는 할 말이 없습니다. 부활의 주님께 드릴 말이 이 말 말고는 없습니다, 주님!

부여외산면 만수리공소 담당 하부내포 성지 윤종관 가브리엘 주임 신부

1947년 6월 충남 부여 출생. 1960년 소신학교인 서울 성신중학교에 입학, 가톨릭대 신학부를 거쳐 1974년 12월 사제가 되었다. 이탈리아 로마 우르바노 대학원 석사와 베를린 자유대학 박사과정 유학을 마치고 1985년 귀국해 해미 본당 초대 주임으로 6년간 성지를 조성했고, 2001년 안면도 본당이 설립되자 대전 도마동 본당 주임과 대전 서구지구장직을 2년 만에 끝내고 자청해 갔다. 열악한 환경의 안면도 사목 6년을 마친 윤종관은 2007년에 버려지고 잊혀진 하부내포 성지 전담 사제로 부임했다.
